A couple weeks ago, Mabel, Collin, Grandpa and I went to a Ranch Rodeo at the fair. Collin's cousin Joe and his friends entered and came in 4th place out of 8 or so teams. They did really well, and it was fun to watch. The down side- it was VERY hot. Poor Mabel was in the shade with me, but still managed to get some pretty rosy cheeks from the heat.

Forest Fire
This fire was right by our house. It was started by lightning. There were helicopters and airplanes flying over the fire for a few days. About 500 firefighters camped at the Pleasant View Elementary School down the street from us. There were tons of tents, bottled water and port-a-potties on the field. Luckily the wind was blowing away from us, so we didn't get any of the smoke. It ended up burning around 230 acres. Way too close to home!

Collin's cousin's wife Jennifer Lanier took these adorable photos of Mabel... She was able to get some awesome shots even though Mabel was very tired and cranky!
